“AWANA” stands for: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from II Timothy 2:15. AWANA is an international organization dedicated to the spiritual growth of young people. Calvary Community Church’s AWANA program provides an atmosphere where a child can enjoy growing spiritually, physically, and mentally, and gives children the opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus, no matter their background.
I hereby affirm and acknowledge, by signing above, that I have read this authorization agreement, and that all the answers given by me are complete and true to the best of my knowledge. I authorize the investigation of any or all statements in this application and also authorize anyone relevant to this application to provide information and opinions necessary. I also understand that in accordance with child safety policies, I am required to have a current background check in place with Calvary Community Church, and will be required to fill out a background check form if a current one is not already on file. In addition, I certify that I have a personal, mature relationship with Jesus Christ, and have the evidence and ability to demonstrate Christ-like behavior to children. I have current involvement in my local church, and I agree to assist my fellow Christians in bringing the gospel of Christ to every child, and to help them grow in their faith. I understand that the completion of this application does not insure me a position, but that I am obligated to fulfill the entire commitment to which I am volunteering for.
